This summer I spent one week on a island where a radiobeacon and a pilot station was kept. During the old days a guesthouse and a small Inn was kept there until 1939. Here the large and smaller sailboats could stay safe in the harbour from the raging sea during storms. The Finnish government closed the radio beacon in 1971 due to the technics being old fashioned. The families running the radio beacon had lived there their whole life and had to move, since the Museum of Åland got the islands in their possession and nothing could be built on the island.
Anyway, today there is a guest harbor and a small café which is run by a couple, already for the 17th year. A familiar environment with familiar people and a lots of friends and a simple life. It is a very popular place for outings during beautiful summer days. There is no electricity so the cafe uses liquid gas for running the fridges and stoves. You can always, I mean every day during the summer buy freshly baked cinnamon cake, mud cake and breakfast rolls. The breakfast rolls are ordered the night before and brought to you to your boat fresh and warm. SO delicious !
I did a page using papers from Echo Park, Beautiful life collection and this weeks Let's Scrap sketch. Some misting and letters from EKSuccess.
This layout won the Weekly competition at Let's Scrap this week.
That's all for this time, folks. Thank you for peeking in!
