Sailing camp

Hi there,

It has been a while, again, since I last wrote. This time I'll share some pictures from my older DS sailing camp. On August 1st a bunch of happy kids gathered in Langnäs at noon, to be picked up with the ÅSS yacht club boat. From there a short 15-20 minutes drive with the boat, the trip started. When they arrived to Rödhamn everyone was jumping and screaming of joy. The camp had started !

The first thing was to get everyone out of the boat with their packing. Not all kids came with the boat though, few of them came with their families with own boats. But at this time, everyone was at the pier. The excitement was touchable. All 30 kids and some 10 leaders gathered on the pier to assign rooms and places to sleep. We had promised to house 4 of the participants, 3 friends to our oldest DS.

When everybody had found their beds, all the kids gathered on the pier for their first class. They were divided into 4 groups and all groups were assigned different schemes. These they were to follow all the 4 days. It was clear that all the kids were waiting for the moment when they got to rig their boats and get out.

This is my DS on the first day, on the first sailout they had.

This is DS on the second sailout, waiting (patiently) to get some help.

After the first classes, the second day, the kids were premiered with a dip in the sea..

.. together with some of the leaders.

This is a picture of the boats waiting for the sailors.

This is all for now. I'll show few more pictures from the last day of the camp next time.
Hugs,
Susanna
