As I posted earlier, our oldest son decided to sign up to the Finnish Army. His conscription started on Monday the 4th of July in Nyland Brigade in Ekenäs. This brigade educates troops for naval defence.
On the 13th of August our army-boy had been 6 weeks in the army. This was the end of the basic education. By now the conscripts have got the information where they will continue their army education. Our son got chosen to the vessel driver education, exactly what he was hoping.
On Saturday the 13th of August the bridagde organized festivities and a parade where the conscripts took an oath to defende their country. This was very formal and respectful occasion.

| Many years ago this was where the persons keeping guard were positioned rain or shine. |
This day the parade field was crowded with approximately 720 conscripts and 2003 guests + foremen etc. Can you imagine what it felt like standing there and listening 720 conscripts in one voice saying HOORAY??
Actually, neither can I describe it. You need to feel it to understand the power in it.
This is all for now. Thanks for peeking in.
Rgds,
Susanna
